I Started My 2018 Right (Hello, I'm Back!)
How do you move on from a life that the world expects you to live? Move forward? Yep. That's what I'm doing now. Moving forward and just doing what my heart tells me to do, even if this is against the norm.
Hello, I'm back! It's been almost 3 months since you've last heard from me and a lot, seriously a lot, has happened. But pretty much, I started my 2018 right! (Oh boy, how I've missed writing in this blank space and how I've missed seeing that orange publish button!) Anyway, I was extremely excited for what this year has installed for me and I was super productive with the things that truly mattered. For a while, I was so focused on more important things other than my day job, but then the Universe (and God) apparently had much better plans for me. I was being diverged from the world that helped me pick up my pieces after hitting rock bottom and from the world that I thought would help me grow. Believe it or not, I even celebrated my 1 Year Anniversary there.. by far the longest I've been in a job.
Since we're already on this topic, allow me first to share the start of my 2018 before elaborating what's up with my career.
I closed this project by the end of 2017. So basically, January was filled with sourcing and a little shopping of furniture, lights, finishes, and so on. I also had a lot of meetings this month. Construction then started by the end of January and ended on the first week of March.
I was really preoccupied with this one especially because I had an amazing client, which makes the whole project fun and interesting!
For the longest time, my friend and I had been planning to start on a venture but it was only on the first week of January that we really pushed through. So for the past months, we had series of meetings, we planned, and we worked on our branding and all of those business stuff. I will share the details of this business venture in a future post but for now, I just want to say that I am genuinely grateful, especially because I partnered up with a close friend. :)
On February, I was able to work on a wall mural for a condo unit which my designer <college> friend designed! I had a lot of fun working on it especially because the client started reminiscing her Eiffel Tower experience upon seeing the artwork. Sharing a piece of my soul through my art certainly makes me happy!
This is an annual thing of my family and relatives, to make our faith much stronger and to celebrate it.
I don't think the fingers on both my hands can count how many eat outs I had since I was on blogging hiatus. I was able to try out new places plus I was able to spend quality time with my family and friends. It was very fun and enjoyable.
I know that this is God's plan for me because the day before I resigned, I went to church and told God that, "kung papaalisin niyo po ako sa <insert company here>, paalisin niyo na po ako agad please. Wag niyo na po ako patagalin kung aalis din po ako kasi ayoko na po talaga. Di ko na kaya". And so the next day, God made me resign. hehehe.
But what I want to say is, sometimes, no matter how hard you try, no matter how many sacrifices you made, no matter how difficult the situation is, no matter how much it helped you to go through a life situation, if it burdens you and if it no longer makes you happy and you're no longer growing in that environment for you are being dragged down, sometimes, letting go is the only way to go. And I chose to let go. And now I am feeling so much better and super blessed.
Alongside my resignation as a full time employee, I also resigned as the corporate secretary and I pulled out my shares from the company. I don't want to elaborate this because my reasons should be kept internally and shouldn't be publicized. This was a decision I felt doing right and a decision I felt would be good for me.
And that concludes why I was on blogging hiatus for the first two (almost 3) months of 2018. I'm so proud of myself for being brave enough to work hard and do what my heart told me to do, without looking back and without having regrets with my decisions. Because after all, this might lead me to realize what I am truly capable of.
"You don't always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens."
The freelance life kind of scares me but I am also very excited with what's going to happen. I have embraced this for two weeks now and I am enjoying it because the stress, exhaustion, and anxiety attacks were eliminated if not, reduced, from my daily life.
"People are going to talk, whether I do bad or good. I don't force myself to fit in where I don't belong. I accept my life as it is. I do not judge, I do not dramatize. I let life's events come freely and I welcome the lessons they convey. I stop struggling now. I let go and know that God always gives me that which is most appropriate for my soul."
So hey! Finally, I am back and active again in my little space here in the world wide web!
How do you deal with big changes in your life?

TURNED OVER AN INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT
I closed this project by the end of 2017. So basically, January was filled with sourcing and a little shopping of furniture, lights, finishes, and so on. I also had a lot of meetings this month. Construction then started by the end of January and ended on the first week of March.
I was really preoccupied with this one especially because I had an amazing client, which makes the whole project fun and interesting!
NEW BUSINESS VENTURE
For the longest time, my friend and I had been planning to start on a venture but it was only on the first week of January that we really pushed through. So for the past months, we had series of meetings, we planned, and we worked on our branding and all of those business stuff. I will share the details of this business venture in a future post but for now, I just want to say that I am genuinely grateful, especially because I partnered up with a close friend. :)
WORKED ON A WALL MURAL

ATTENDED THE STO. NINO PROCESSION
This is an annual thing of my family and relatives, to make our faith much stronger and to celebrate it.
DID A LOT OF EAT OUTS, CHILLING, AND BONDING
I don't think the fingers on both my hands can count how many eat outs I had since I was on blogging hiatus. I was able to try out new places plus I was able to spend quality time with my family and friends. It was very fun and enjoyable.
RESIGNED
I know that this is God's plan for me because the day before I resigned, I went to church and told God that, "kung papaalisin niyo po ako sa <insert company here>, paalisin niyo na po ako agad please. Wag niyo na po ako patagalin kung aalis din po ako kasi ayoko na po talaga. Di ko na kaya". And so the next day, God made me resign. hehehe.

And I chose to let go. And now I am feeling so much better and super blessed.
SAID GOODBYE TO A BUSINESS VENTURE
Alongside my resignation as a full time employee, I also resigned as the corporate secretary and I pulled out my shares from the company. I don't want to elaborate this because my reasons should be kept internally and shouldn't be publicized. This was a decision I felt doing right and a decision I felt would be good for me.

ON EMBRACING THE FREELANCE LIFE
