Bloom Arts Festival 2017
If you've been following me for a while, you'll know that I always attend the Bloom Arts Festival. This is just the 3rd installment of the festival (if I'm doing the math correctly), the first one being in 2012 followed by the festival in 2013. Apparently, due to some unknown circumstances, it never happened again for about 3 years until this year! I was actually very excited to see what they have cooked for the big come back!
This year, Bloom happened in Poblacion, Makati. I went with my best friend, Divine. Unfortunately though, I was kind of disappointed with Bloom Arts Festival 2017 because it didn't topped the first two ones in my opinion. I wasn't feeling the vibe that much probably because the venues of the happenings are so far away from each other, compared to when the festival took place in Cubao-X and The Collective.

The highlight of the event for me was the live art at Lokal Hostel.
My friend and I just went to two venues, DULO MNL and Lokal Hostel. We kind of got tired with changing locations because here's the deal, we came from the North and traffic was so immense due to ASEAN Summit 2017. And we just uber-ed going to Poblacion, Makati. And both of us were expecting the festival to be somewhat like the first two ones but no. My best friend and I are so bad with directions even with google maps in hand. So let's just put it this way, our travels consumed more time than actually appreciating and adoring the art. Also, we were not able to go back in the venue and enjoy the music performances.
Bloom Arts Festival 2017 seemed like, as much as I hate to admit, just an Instagram opportunity. Hence, the majority of my photos are with me on it. I still got motivated to continue pursuing my hobby though and I still got inspired, especially because work is stressing me out and I am looking for motivation. Also, I am not sure if my favorite artists were part of this but I didn't see their works (or they are in a different venue? I don't know). But the whole vibe just disappointed me, even if I was really trying hard to appreciate and feel the moment, what a shame. I don't know how others feel but this is just me and my friend.
If you live in the Philippines and would like to see the wall art in person, you can drop by Lokal Hostel (5023 P Burgos, Makati, 1210 Metro Manila)!

The art festival sounds great, Rae. I really like graffiti and wall murals if they exude goodness. Love those Gladiator sandals. They look Greekish, and I'm part Greek, so they spoke to me right away. : )
