DIY Detachable Collar
One of the fashion pieces I love is the detachable collar! Because it can spice up any outfit and it's a conversation maker! Most people who are not equipped with creative skills buy those expensive collars because they have no idea that it's just very easy to make one! Well, what I'm gonna show you today is really simple which can be done by anybody! Let's set aside the patterns and the sewing machine because you'll just need a pair of scissors and an old polo shirt to make a detachable collar!
Materials: Old polo shirt, scissors, measuring tape (optional), taylor's chalk (optional)
Steps:
1. Lay your old polo shirt flat on the table.
2. Measure at least an inch (or smaller) around the collar. You can use a measuring tape if you like and mark it using a taylor's chalk.
3. Cut the collar! Make sure you'll include one button from the shirt because this will be the lock.
4. After cutting it, fold the extra inch of the fabric around the collar. You can sew this if you like.
Then voila!! You're done! Told you it's easy as 1, 2, 3! haha. You can embellish yours using lace, beads, etc. But I'll do tutorials for more complicated detachable collars soon! I hope this has been very helpful to you! :))
