DIY Wand [Harry Potter - Inspired]

Hello Wizards, Witches, Muggles, and Potterheads! When I went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, I seriously dressed up and made my own wand for the movie!

I got tons of inquiries from friends and family of where I bought my wand and they were all just surprised that I made it myself. So here I am, sharing you how I made it so you can make yours as well. Just make sure you don't cast any unforgivable curses though! Have fun creating!~

MATERIALS:

+ Chopsticks (You can use any stick you can find though)
+ Wire
+ Scissors
+ Glue gun
+ Glue gun sticks (and lots, and lots of it!)
+ Paint (You can use enamel / acrylic / poster paint. I used textile and poster paints)
+Paint Brush

HOW TO MAKE:

1. For one wand, you'll be needing 2 chopsticks. Cut one stick in half.

2. Remove the pointy side by cutting a few cm.

3. Next, stick 1/2 of one of the sticks to the other stick using a glue gun.

4. I made sure that the thicker side of the stick is on top.

5. From the top, glue gun swirls downwards. You can make it as thick or as thin as you like.

6. Next, add more swirls of glue gun to the top part.

7. Add beads on top.

8. Paint Time!! Paint your wand. You can use any color you like.

9. Next, set aside and let the paint dry.

10. Lastly, attach wire to your wand.

You can actually be playful with adding textures to your DIY Harry Potter - Inspired Wand. You can add more beads and more glue gun texture to yours and paint it with the color you like!

Have fun making your wand and enjoy casting spells, Potterheads!
