7 Reasons Why You Should Visit Yuchengo Museum

Located in RCBC Plaza in Makati, Yuchengco Museum is not only a “temple” that showcases art, but also a “forum” of exchange, debate, and education.

I was able to visit it when Samsung and Yuchengco Museum launched Culture Connect and I took the opportunity to go around the museum after the event program. Here are 5 reasons why you should visit Yuchengco Museum:

1. Family / Friend bonding time while learning about our Filipino Culture

Why not bond with your family and/or friends at Yuchengco Museum?! You can explore all the floors while softly discussing your thoughts and opinions regarding the pieces exhibited.

That said, you get to know your family or friends better while learning more about our heritage and of the Filipino culture.

2. The entrance fee is affordable.

Entrance fee is only Php 100.00 for adults and half the price (Php 50.00) for Students, Children, Seniors, and PWDs. Though it would be so much better if the entrance would be free, still, we should all be grateful that the museum has been opened to the public since 2005 and your 100 pesos would be so worth it for the learning you'll gain and for the experience you'll acquire!

If you'll be going to the museum in groups of at least 10, you can actually get a 10% discount!

3. You can draw or sketch inside the museum.

Drawing or sketching is actually permitted when pre-approved by the museum.
Don't you think it's nice to practice your art skills inside an inspiring space? Why not do it at Yuchengco Museum!

4. It promotes Filipina Artists.

You can view sculptures, paintings, and prints by Filipina artists at Likhang Pinay: Women Artists from the Yuchengco Museum.

I think this is one of the most beautiful things in the museum.

5. Interact with Digital Art.

There's this new gallery at Yuchengco Museum called Samsung Digital Gallery and you can actually interact with digital art and a few selected pieces from the museum collection.

6. Personally see the works of Philippine Masters and some of the country's leading sculptors.

The Masters Gallery exhibits works by 19th century Filipino National Artists, painters, and esteemed modernists. You'll certainly draw inspirations from this collection!

7. Learn about the Philippine's National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, the Yuchengco Family, and the Yuchengco Group of Companies.

The top most floor of the museum showcases a little history of the Yuchengco Family, and of the Yuchengco Group of Companies.

It also exhibits a Jose Rizal Collection so it would be nice to learn more about our national hero.

Also, do admire the People Power Monument by Eduardo Castrillo outside the Yuchengco Museum

.
The culture of the Philippines is so beautiful, rich, and interesting to learn so do take any chance you get to learn about it.
