Filipina Artist Paints her Closet Doors with a Mural

Ever since my first ever wall mural project, painting on walls and using enamel or latex paint is not that scary anymore and I would actually grab every opportunity that knocks on my door just to have an excuse to "vandalize". hehe. (Kidding!)

You've probably already seen this closet because I've been using it as a backdrop in outfit posts and I've been posting photos of it on my instagram and other social media accounts. But I haven't really blogged about the process. So that's what I'm doing right now.

The original plan was to paint the entire closets white and then paint murals using black paint. But then, I don't have much time before I start working again and also because I don't have a roller brush. So I ended up painting only this side of the closet:

So this is how the closet looked like before.

We live in an old house... an ancestral house and most of the materials are wood. If you've been here for quite some time, you'll know that my room right now used to be my grandma's room until we extended our house and created a room for her so she doesn't need to climb up the stairs everyday.

Anyway, here's me at work: painting my closet doors with a mural...

I painted this mural on my closet doors for around 3-4 hours, meryenda break and lying in my bed to rest included. I had a lot of fun painting this though and if I wasn't lazy, I would have continued painting my other closet on the other side of the room.

But ta-daaaah! I like it a lot! I like how the white paint really pops out in the brown wood material. But I still wish I painted my entire closet white because it would have made my room apper a lot bigger. But I'm still happy. =)

  1. This is really pretty and definitely a more unique way of modernising than just going for the standard block colour :)

  2. You are very talented, obviously possessing an excellent eye painting freehand like that.
Your mural came out looking beautiful, and your ancestral house looks very nice.
