The Yellowstone Experience - The Must-See Sights And More

If you’re talking national parks, then you have to see the oldest and one of the most important of the US. We’re talking about Yellowstone, of course. One of the most geothermally active spots in the world the landscape reflects its radical state. Which makes it all the more worth seeing. If you like natural beauty, explosive water or even doing some good, keep reading. Yellowstone is the place for you.

Make it a long trip

Like any national park, Yellowstone deserves more than just one day. It’s not just about seeing the most famous of the park’s hotspots (though we will cover that). You don’t want to stick to a hotel or lodge. At the same time, you want to get out of the car. So consider taking an Oasis RV with you to really cover everything you want to see.

Old Faithful is calling

The aforementioned hotspot is, of course, none other than the most famous geyser in the world. It’s not just about the impressive geothermal movement that’s important about this place, either. The Old Faithful Inn is over a hundred years old, one of the last remaining log hotels in the US and still a great stay. Don’t miss the rest of the Upper Geyser Basin, either.

Get a real look at some wildlife

Zoos don’t just cut it for those who want to see some real wildlife. For those experiences, you really need a national park and Yellowstone has some of the best sights to offer. For example, one of the most popular is easily the expeditions to see the wolves and bears of the park. Easily one of the best reasons to take a camera on your travels (non-flash, of course).

The history of the park

From the age of the Old Faithful Inn, you can tell Yellowstone is a park with a lot of history. It is, after all, the first national park in the US and perhaps the world. Fort Yellowstone comes from a time when the United States Army was responsible for the park. Nowadays, Fort Yellowstone serves as a museum of the conservation and fulfilled duty of those military officers. Well worth a visit for those who like to take a bit of pride in US history.

Sights you have to see

Of course, you can’t talk about any national park without talking about some of the great pieces of landscape worth clasping your eyes on. The Boiling River is a hot spring that meets a river, causing a mix of hot and cold water. The Grand Prismatic Spring might be even more dramatic looking than Old Faithful. You will never see water with these kinds of colors.

Make a difference

Yellowstone would not stand today without the efforts of conservationists. Those protecting it for over a hundred years. You can honor their service by offering your own. If you want an even longer stay, join the thousands of annual volunteers that work at the park for a time. Help at the gift shop. Clear trails. Do some good while surrounded by some of the most beautiful country around.
