The light scent of dried oak and apples

I haven't realized how much I miss dressing up for myself until I'm putting together this outfit post! For the past months, I've been a lazy dresser and I've been dressing down because of dress codes and such in the office and also because my office mates are not as open-minded as I am when it comes to fashion (they are waaaay older than me) so I have to adjust. I don't know if you've noticed the lack of fashion posts but that's how my fashion life went.

Similar outfit ensemble: Bloom Fairy in the City

Anyway, I wore this ensemble at the RL Style Talks last December. The event was on a Saturday and I have work on Saturdays so I left the office at 12 noon to make it on time. Unfortunately, I was late but anyway, believe it or not, I commute like this. hehe. Tricycle, jeep, bus, then MRT, then taxi, then jeep --- I rode all of these just to get to the venue. I know right, tiis ganda ito! hahaha. But I'm already used to the lifestyle --- dressing up as if I will not commute. :)

WEARING: Lace dress- hand-me-down | White Skirt- hand-me-down & revamped | Gray Beret- Divisoria | Boots c/o rosewholesale | Necklace c/o Born Pretty | rings c/o Sammy dress

This lace dress is too short for me so I wore a white mini skirt underneath. I then paired it up with my Php 20.00 gray beret and a pair of ankle-high brown boots. My Php 50.00 purple metallic backpack (which I bought from the closet sale of a fashion editor of Chalk Magazine) probably doesn't match if I'm going for a vintage style look but I'm not so I guess the backpack pulled it off! :)

Oh hey, all in all, this outfit only costs me Php 70.00 (around $1.46) because the lace dress is a hand-me-down, the skirt is also a hand-me-down which I revamped, and the boots and accessories are sponsored. So yay for a very cheap outfit ensemble! And I quote London Tipton, "Yay Me!" :">

  1. Hand-me-downs are the best! When I was working last year, where I was the only female and the only one born in the 90s, it was also impossible for me to dress up much, so I feel you, Rae. Your lace dress is adorable!

  7. Good pairing of the skirt! I really love those inner skirts to go with short dresses. I wonder how manufacturers could make such short dresses as if the whole world is so short. I love the grey beret and boots look. Kinda autumn. Thank you for your heartfelt comment on my sad post a while back. Appreciate it!

    1. Hi Jo, thank you! Maybe this dress was meant for shorter girls? But the fit is actually perfect except for the skirt part. hahaha. I don't know. Anyway, you're welcome! Have a nice day :">

    1. I had no choice, it was either I wear a skirt underneath or wear the dress as a long blouse. I choose the first one. hehe. Thank you Launna! :")

  11. This is such a pretty dress, I love the lace! I feel like I usually wear the same old boring clothes to work, so I am often uninspired with my outfits. Plus it's hard to feel outfit inspired in this freezing cold weather we have over here right now. I hoping all that will change soon though!
