If we burn, you burn with us! My outfit to the Mockingjay Screening

A few days after the release of the Mockingjay in the big screen here in the Philippines, my brother and I went on a "date" and watched it together. Thesis just got finished so I wanted to unwind in whatever way possible. haha. :) Well, technically, I'm the fan of the trilogy so yeah, my treat. lol.  I can't believe that they gave us a Mockingjay poster upon buying the tickets. score! :-)

Obviously, this is another late post as Mockingjay was shown last month. I am trying to post as much backlogs as I can. So anyway, this was my outfit on that day. I was supposed to wear my Mockingjay necklace from Personalized Accessories (see here) but then I forgot to wear it. How careless & stupid of me. I'm not trying to imitate Katniss Everdeen in this outfit, rather, I'm translating my feelings to the story in this outfit. I'm still very girly despite the rebellion. haha!

My thoughts on the movie? (don't worry, this isn't a spoiler) For the first time in my life, I find the movie adaptation greater and better than the book. I always, always find the books better than the movies but this time, the Mockingjay movie for me is seriously better than the book though I still have great disappointments with the movie because they didn't really show the best (small?) parts I find important in the book. (now this is a spoiler so stop reading if you don't want to be spoiled) I actually find it offensive how small Finnick's part is in the movie compared to the book. Like, they didn't really show how Katniss and Finnick's friendship developed and deepen. Finnick was Katniss' true friend and they understood each other and I swear I really love their friendship which was apparently never shown in the movie. Also, I seriously don't like the fact that the movie is so bias to Peeta since part 1. Like, hello. where is the "GALE IS MINE. I AM HIS." line/feeling of Katniss in Catching Fire and omg why not until the end of the trilogy?! I know that a lot (not all, but a lot) of the avid fans and of the readers are Team Gale and out hearts are seriously broken. Lastly, Katniss pretty much felt like a prisoner at 13 and she loathed it. She really loathed the district the way they operate at the district. And why didn't the movie shown that?

Anyway, if you've seen the movie, I'm sure that you got addicted to the song, The Hanging Tree. I was honestly looking forward to it since I just literally read the song and I have no idea what the tune is. Hearing it was one of the best parts of the movie. lol.

I can't wait to see Mockingjay Part 2 but I don't want to see _ _ _ _ _ _ _ and _ _ _ _ to die. :'<

  2. It's been my least favorite Hunger Games movie so far. I don't like incomplete stories, though I do like that two part movies can cover more story. Oh the irony.

  3. I haven't seen the movie... I am glad you were able to get out and relax a little and enjoy a movie...

I am torn when it comes to books and movies... I love books but sometime I love to see it in a movie, although you are right, the miss a lot of characters when they make a movie xox
