Hair Tip: Combating Unruly Morning Hair

With the colder weather creeping up on us (hello, ber months!!!), it's no doubt that sleeping is one of the best things to do during times like this especially when you sleep on a Casper Mattress. Casper is a sleep start-up that makes outrageously comfortable latex memory foam mattresses. And admit it, every morning you say hello to tangles and knots, and to flyaways and frizz. How do you even solve this problem? Also don't forget to check out the Casper Mattress Facebook page!

If you're like me with long, curly, mermaid hair who often only have 2-4 hours of sleep a day (oh, hey thesis! :< ) and taking a full bath in the morning is not an option as the old generation says that it's bad for your health, i end up doing a half bath which leaves my hair untouched. How do you combat unruly morning hair without doing the only known effective option which is the 'taking a bath' and wetting it? I am not a hair expert but I have ways which are so effective that I just have to share them to you as I know that having unruly morning hair is such a pain, especially if you have natural curly hair.

TIP # 1
Braid your hair before sleeping. You'll wake up with amazing curls! If you have straight hair, then you'll wake up with a wavy hair which is easier for you to style rather than blow drying it.

TIP # 2
Take a bath at least an hour before you sleep then do tip # 1. If I am aware that I have to work all night to finish my plates/drawings, what I do is that I take a bath before starting to work, then I do tip #1.

TIP # 3
If you don't want to braid your hair, tie it up in a bun instead. I do this sometimes but I still prefer braiding it since for me, sleeping with a braided hair is much more comfortable than in a bun. But the result of my hair in sleeping with a bun is nice too.

TIP # 4
Use vitress hair polish and cuticle coat. Before sleeping, use vitress! When you wake up with unruly morning hair, use vitress!

TIP # 5
Use silk pillowcase. Studies show that silk pillowcases prevent sleep creases and bedhead. :)

Basically, these are just the things I do to combat unruly morning hair. I hope these tips help! And if you want to share something or add something on this list, feel free to comment below. :)

  2. Rae, I have very dry hair with wave, but not super curly... I have to use a lot of product on the end, nothing else much works for me... I do sleep on a silk pillow case though and I love it, I won't sleep on anything other than that ;)

    1. i'm thinking of investing on silk pillow case from now on and i'll probably recommend or use silk pillow cases for my future clients! haha. :) anyway, it's kind of extra effort for us to maintain our hair since we are naturally wavy or curly. but i love having hair like this. :))

  10. I love tying my hair up into a bun when it looks completely messy (which it does often, unfortunately!). Hair is definitely way too complicated :D

  11. I put my hair up in a bun whenever I get home from school, and sometimes I sleep while it's still there, too. I love the waves in my hair in the morning after removing my hair from the bun!
