DIY Vintage Envelope

My love for writing personal letters will never die down even if there are already ways of communicating high-tech-ly. As I was writing a letter for my pen pal in Ukraine, I got the spelling of her name wrong in the envelope. So then I thought of embellishing the envelope to not waste it. I ended up making this Vintage envelope! By the way,I used it for my college best friend’s letter instead!

MATERIALS:

-Plain white envelope
-Scissors
-Glue
-Old book (One with old, brown pages is preferred)
-Peter Pan rope (I really don’t know what it’s called. Haha) *
-Paper Tape *
-Black and white photos (I used Audrey Hepburn’s photos ofcourse)

*not in the picture

WHAT TO DO:

 1. Rip a page from the old notebook. Shape it into a rectangular strip without using a pair of scissors.

2. Paste it at the back of the plain envelope --- the side where you write the name and the address of the letter receiver.

 3. Next, cut the paper tape the same length as the width of the envelope. Then cut the one inch paper tape in half.
4. Apply water on the paper tape and paste it at the bottom and top end of the envelope.

5. Do the same on the other side of the envelope.

6. Add embellishments such as the black and white photo and the peter pan rope and you’re done!

Write personal letters to your family, friends, and even to strangers! Have fun making yours!  :D
