Kitchen Remodeling using Glass Backsplashes

Exploring the World of Kitchen Backsplashes (photo)

One common feature that may be overlooked in the kitchen, are backsplashes. There are dozens of options when it comes to backsplashes. Did you know there are glass backsplashes, chalkboard backsplashes, LED-lit backsplashes, mirrored backsplashes and even stainless steel backsplashes?
In this guest post, I will show you what’s out there in the world of kitchen dĆ©cor, and what backsplashes are particularly stylish in 2012.

Neon Glass Backsplash (photo)

These colorful neon glass backsplashes really set off this otherwise all white kitchen. The contrast between the neon and the white is what makes the colors pop even more! The reflection of the light off the glass backsplashes also brighten up the kitchen.

Chalkboard Backsplash (photo)

This chalkboard backsplash was created by a DIY designer, with chalkboard paint. While most use chalkboard in kitchen dĆ©cor as a cute placement for to-do or grocery lists, this designer decided to turn it into a patterned design. At the end of the day, it’s chalk, so you can always come up with new designs and new uses for your chalkboard backsplash. The possibilities are endless, and it’s something one’s kids might enjoy!

Glass backsplashes with installed LED lighting will turn heads, while still serving a valuable function. They’re perfect for that middle of the night trip to the kitchen for a glass of water, or for dazzling guests during a late night kitchen rendezvous!

Mirrored Backsplash (photo)

Similarly to glass backsplashes, a mirrored backsplash reflects light and makes one’s kitchen appear larger. This is the perfect solution for small kitchens that receive lots of natural light. Any mirrored surface will brighten up the kitchen and give an illusion of a larger space.

Stainless Steel Backsplash – Ridged Cobblestone Pattern (photo)

In what might be one of the coolest backsplashes in the ‘Stainless Living’ collection, this stainless steel backsplash combines a modern design cue with the scratch resistance of stainless steel. If you want looks coupled with durability, this is the backsplash for you!

At the end of the day, the best backsplash for you will obviously depend on your kitchen. Do-it-yourselfers might opt for the chalkboard backsplash, people with dark kitchens might opt for the glass or led-lit backsplashes, and people with small kitchens may opt for the mirrored backsplashes. Do what’s right for your kitchen and your budget, and have fun!
